Located in Healesville, Victoria, Tarrawarra Estate is home to the TarraWarra Museum of Art, a renowned art museum showcasing modern Australian art. Situated next to a winery estate, the museum is housed in an architecturally unique building. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring works by senior contemporary Australian artist Brent Harris, who seamlessly combines figuration and abstraction in his art. With a focus on examining psychological subject matter and expressing complex emotions, Harris incorporates humor and the grotesque into his creations. The current exhibition, "Brent Harris: Surrender & Catch," curated by Maria Zagala and co-presented with the Art Gallery of South Australia, offers a fascinating insight into the artist's work. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this captivating exhibition at TarraWarra Museum of Art until March 11, 2024, before it moves to the Art Gallery of South Australia.

We haven't had a chance to visit when the museum opens so we can give a review regarding the external area only.
It was a great scenic spot to chill out for get away trip. The best time to visit would be around the autumn season as they have few nice areas with yellow autumn leaves plants. I guess other seasons like spring are also good with leafy pathways and a big pond in the middle.
It gives a calm and peaceful feeling when walking or sitting around in the area.
Tarrawarra museum is an excellent spot to catch an art exhibition. I've visited a few exhibitions of contemporary art and they were spectacular.
The vineyards and trees outside at Tarrawarra estate offer some stunning views especially during autumn and makes for a great spot to enjoy the peace and quiet. Sunsets here are quite picturesque. There are couple of restaurants offering food and wine tasting that makes for a perfect half day trip.
Magnificent view. There's a restaurant on top of the hill next to the museum but you can also just order a cup of coffee and enjoy the view.
Very nice museum to visit. It has a beautiful lake. As the museum is on a hill, you get a good view of the of the lake and hills. This is not a big museum but it's got some interesting work of arts to appreciate. There is also a shop where you can buy some of the art pieces.
We were there half an hour before closing at 5 pm. As we came out and walk around, the sun was about to set. We were happy to see a beautiful sunset with the lake, hills and trees in the background. So if you are here, its definely worth staying for the sunset.
A very calming and serene environment. The landscape is absolutely lovely, which I loved more than the actual museum.
Adult entry to the museum costs $12.
The restaurant is pretty expensive - they only have 4 course meals for about $140 per person .
I went to the venue as a stop while driving thru the area. There was a shuttle bus to get people from the lower carpark to the buildings. I didn't go into the gallery as the $15 entry fee was too high for the small gallery and the time i was going tone there. There is a free exhibition near the lower carpark that looks like an abandoned building- go inside for a total contrast
The aboriginal art exhibition was marvellous. Besides, the location and the scenery is breathtaking. Next time,I'm going to book a seat at the restaurant to enjoy the view over lunch.
I am a bit torn in between. I liked the architecture of the building and the setting, especially for an Art museum. But I didn‘t get access to the displayed art, paintings and video installations. But I am not an Art expert.
